About Us
Our Story:
Pension Vera has stood the test of time, operating for over half a century in a protected heritage building that has survived both World Wars. In 1990, Lyla Mahmudi, driven by her dream of running a hospitality business, stumbled upon Pension Vera. By chance, she inquired if the owners were willing to sell. Little did she know, the timing was serendipitous, as the owner had just recently passed away. After careful consideration, the widow and her children decided to sell the business to the person whom destiny had seemingly led straight to their door. In November 1990, our family took over the reins of Pension Vera. A dream came true.
Our Team:
Lyla Mahmudi had always envisioned creating a welcoming sanctuary for travelers. Together as a family, we continue to uphold this vision, providing a warm, familial environment for our guests. Over the years, we’ve witnessed love stories unfold, supported families visiting relatives in nearby hospitals, and even offered jobs to students who are now esteemed medical professionals. Our guesthouse has become a place where history is written and cherished memories are made.
